Jamie Shackleton was pleased that his Millwall team-mates were able to keep his close friend Ian Poveda quiet as the two Leeds United loanees went head-to-head last weekend. The Lions ran out 2-1 winners against Blackpool with a goal either side of half-time.
The 22-year-old came on as a second-half substitute for Michael Appleton's side but it was Shackleton's side who would run out victorious.
Shackleton told londonnewsonline: “Ian is a pretty tricky player, he didn’t get many chances to get on the ball and run at us, which is good, we stopped that well. But it was nice to see him, I was pretty close to him when I was at Leeds. I wish him all the best for the season.”
Millwall have had an indifferent start to the campaign, winning four, drawing once and losing five of their opening ten games of the Championship season. Blackpool on the other hand are just one point above the relegation zone.
Shackleton has made nine starts and one appearance off the bench for the Lions this season after signing up this summer alongside fellow Thorp Arch graduate Charlie Cresswell.
