Jamie Redknapp outlines Everton's biggest strength in relegation battle with Leeds United

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp reckons Everton's home form could be the difference between relegation and Premier League survival. Everton picked up a huge result last weekend at a raucous Goodison Park, securing a 1-0 win over Chelsea which left Leeds United sweating.

The Whites are still two points above Everton heading into this weekend's slate of fixtures but have played a game more than Frank Lampard's side. Both sides play this Sunday at 2pm, with Leeds travelling to the Emirates to take on Arsenal while Everton play Leicester City away at the King Power Stadium.

However, Everton play Watford in midweek following their game against Leicester with the Hornets owning the worst home form in the Premier League.

And while Everton have one of the worst away records in the league this season, Redknapp believes the Toffees have a good chance of staying up if they can replicate their home form and pick up an away result which could help see Leeds United's brief stay in the Premier League end prematurely.

"What a three points for them [on Everton beating Chelsea 1-0] especially with what Burnley are doing," said Redknapp. "I'm sure Frank Lampard, if they had lost this game, would have started to think it might be too late.

"It's an unbelievable three points for them, it's given them another lifeline. It's the home form you feel will keep them up but can they somehow manufacture a win away?

"They've only had one all season - not good enough. They've got to find a way of going away and being difficult to beat, picking up some points.

"They've been a different team when they've played at home, but can they now change that mindset away? If they can, then they'll stay in the Premier League. If they can't, then they'll go down.

"When you're playing teams and winning away from home, you've got to have a bit of character about you. That's probably what the problem has been there, not enough characters."
