Jamie Redknapp believes that Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay should have been sent off after catching James Maddison with a late tackle in Saturday's draw with Leicester.
The Scot was yellow-carded for his lunge but received no further action as VAR deemed the punishment worthy of the crime. McTominay was withdrawn shortly after the incident as Ralf Rangnick made a tactical switch to bring on Marcus Rashford.
Redknapp, who was analysing the Reds' draw with Leicester City for Sky Sports, likened the challenge to the one that Tottenham talisman Harry Kane made on Andy Robertson earlier in the campaign. The England skipper was also shown a yellow card but some thought a red would have been a fairer outcome.

He said: "I think it's a red in the current climate. We had a similar tackle earlier in the season probably a bit worse, Harry Kane and he got a yellow - I feel he should've got a red on that occasion.
"It is reckless, out of control and you can see he's endangering the opponent. It's hit both knees, he's lost control, it's pure desperation and he's gone lunging in. When you go lunging like that you've got to win the ball and if you don't it's a red card."
