Jamie Redknapp believes West Ham United are too good to go down and called on the players to haul the team out of the relegation battle.
The Hammers were on the wrong end of a 5-1 humiliation on Wednesday night, with Newcastle United leaving the London Stadium with all three points and leaving West Ham out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
David Moyes' side have a game in hand over the rest of the relegation rivals and are still in the UEFA Europa Conference League, and are yet to taste defeat in Europe this season despite their poor domestic form.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the match on Wednesday night, Redknapp admitted West Ham shouldn't be in this position and have too much talent to be relegated to the Championship with ten games remaining - but did add that 'strange things can happen.'
"I think that squad is too good to go down - I said it on Sunday and I’ll say it again now - but when you're under pressure strange things can happen. Strange things can happen where the board go: you know what?" said Redknapp.
"There are managers out there right now that are certainly available that would look at this job - it’s a brilliant job, it’s London, the vast experience they’ve got there and the players they’ve got - who wouldn’t want that job if they’re out of work? Or do they stick with David Moyes, who has got money in the bank because of the job he did last year in Europe and the way they finished?
"They shouldn’t be in this position. The players have got to take [responsibility], they’re too good to be in that position. Their defending [against Newcastle] was absolutely comical."
Seven points separate Crystal Palace in 12th and Southampton in 20th, with four teams on 27 points - West Ham, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth who are 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th respectively.
