Jamie Redknapp and his recent new wife Frida have paid tribute to the footballer’s father, Harry, as he celebrates his birthday.
Football legend Harry turned 75-years-old on Wednesday, with his 48-year-old son Jamie leading the congratulations with a sweet social media post.
Jamie took to Instagram to share a collection of snaps of Harry from over the years with the cover image being one of the father and son from decades before, standing wearing football outfits.
Other snaps showed Jamie and Harry with Jamie’s sons Charles, 17 and Beau, 13 – from his past marriage to 47-year-old Louise Redknapp – as well as other snaps of Harry from his football glory days, and pics of him with his wife.
Sharing the collection of images, Jamie wrote the message: “Happy birthday to my best mate from day 1 . Could not have asked for a better dad or mentor thanks for everything . Have the best day . Love you dad x .”
Frida – who Jamie married last year and welcomed a son with last November – was among the first to add her own message to the post.
Replying to the collection of photos, the 37-year-old Swedish model wrote: “Happy Birthday @harryredknapp,” alongside a string of celebratory emojis.
Others wishing Harry a happy birthday included Steven Gerrard who replied with a flame emoji and a red heart emoji.
Robbie Keane also responded, writing: “Happy birthday @harryredknapp.”
While many fans also flocked to the image to send messages, with one writing: “Happy Birthday Harry ,have a fabulous day.”
Harry has recently teased fans that they will be able to learn all about his life as he is set to release a book – which he says will include the secret to building a long-lasting and happy relationship.
The former footballer has been married to wife Sandra, 74, since 1967.
Announcing the news via social media last month, Harry shared a photo of himself and Sandra on their wedding day on his Instagram page.
The black and white image showed the couple looking absolutely thrilled on their big day – with Harry looking sharp in a suit and Sandra a vision in her wedding dress.
The former footballer wrote alongside the snap: "Sandra and I are excited to reveal that we're releasing a book together last this year."
The I'm a Celebrity alum continued: "[We'll be] sharing our love, highs and lows from 50 years of marriage. We have so many stories that we can't wait to share with you all."
And the former manager of West Ham United teased the title of the upcoming book, revealing that When Harry Met Sandra would be on sale for fans to buy in the autumn.
