Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has been slammed by TV viewers as being "patronising" in a TV appearance where he cooked what he claimed were "cheap" meals. But those watching The One Show on Thursday evening were quick to point out that the meals weren't as frugal as they were made out to be.
Jamie was cooking on the show to promote his new book, called 'One', which he says features 'simple one-pan wonders'. He claimed the meals cost £1.45 per portion to make.
Cooking a sausage and minestrone soup, he used Cumberland sausage, red wine, parmesan cheese, garlic, fennel seeds and fresh lasagne sheets, reports BirminghamLive.
