Jamie McGrath pays tribute to 'amazing club' and thanks St Mirren fans for making him feel at home

Former St Mirren star Jamie McGrath has thanked the club's supporters for making him feel at home in Paisley.

The former Dundalk playmaker spent two years with the Buddies after moving over to Scotland from the League of Ireland.

He went on to score 20 goals in 79 appearances for the Saints, including a memorable double in their incredible 3-2 League Cup quarter-final win against Rangers last season.

Despite Jim Goodwin and the club's best efforts to keep him in Paisley, the Ireland international joined Wigan Athletic on transfer deadline day on Monday.

And after being unveiled by his new club last night, the 25-year-old has today sent a heartfelt message to his former club and their fans.

Posting on social media, McGrath said: "Delighted to have spent the last two years with St Mirren.

"What an amazing club to be a part of and loved every single minute.

"Thank you to all the staff, teammates and fans for making me feel at home since day one."
