McAllister will be confirmed along with the remainder of the backroom team when all positions have been confirmed with a new goalie coach still to be appointed.

Fans' favourite David Gray will remain at Hibs as a first-team coach after twice being installed as interim boss following the sackings of Jack Ross and Shaun Maloney.

New boss Johnson has already been busy recruiting for the new campaign with David Marshall and Nonah Keeneh both snapped up on pre-contract deals.

Another player on the radar for the capital club is Aiden McGeady following his departure from the Black Cats but a deal is said to be some way off at this stage.

Hibs return to competitive action in early July as they begin their Premier Sports Cup campaign.

They kick-off with a home game against Clyde on July 9.

Falkirk, Greenock Morton and Bonnyrigg Rose make up the rest of the group.
