Jamie Lee Curtis will officiate her daughter's cosplay wedding in a custom-made World Of Warcraft costume.
The 63-year-old actress will be hosting the big bash in her back garden, as well as serving as officiant for the ceremony in May.
Jamie Lee’s daughter Ruby, who came out as transgender last year, will be tying the knot with her partner Cynthia, and the Knives Out star couldn’t be more excited.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, she revealed she has also ordered a special costume, and has chosen to be dressed as Jaina Proudmoore from World of Warcraft.
“It is a cosplay wedding. That means you wear a costume, you dress up as something,” she explained.
“It’s a game, I don’t know. She’s an admiral. I went on Etsy and wrote ‘Jaina Proudmoore costume’ and up came a woman, had the costume. I said, ‘Great,’” Jamie Lee added.
But the actress has encountered a small problem, as she discovered the seamstress is based in Russia.
“We exchanged communication, I paid her a nice sum of money for this and all is going great. I sent her my measurements,” she told host Jimmy.
“Everything was okay until a month ago, two or three weeks ago, I got an email from her. She said there may be a delay in sending the costume. I said, ‘Okay, that's fine, a week or two is fine’,” the actress continued, little realising that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine could have a knock-on effect on the delivery of her costume.
“The costume is coming from Russia. She is a seamstress in Russia who is making my daughter's, my, cosplay wedding outfit,” she stated.
“Well, she'd better get that to you,” Jimmy joked, but Jamie Lee is still hopeful the costume will make it to Los Angeles in time.
“There's a little bit of a supply chain issue and things are sort of held up now, have you seen in the port, all those boats,” she said.
Jamie Lee, who shares children Annie and Ruby with husband Christopher Guest, also spoke about the upcoming ceremony in her back garden, and was visibly emotional as she described just how special the big day would be.
“Both my children will have been married in my backyard, which brings me to tears. It's so much more meaningful. Being a parent, having both of your children married in your backyard. It's just in your home,” she sweetly shared.
