Jamie Lee Curtis gave a moving speech after her Best Supporting Actress win at the Oscars

After decades in Hollywood, Jamie Lee Curtis is now an Academy Award winner.

The legendary actress won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, the first Oscar in her career.

During her powerful speech, Curtis thanked her family and her fellow cast and crew and gave a special shoutout to her late parents, industry titans Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.

The latter won in the same category as Jamie Lee Curtis in 1961, adding to the specialness of the moment.

Everything Everywhere All at Once started out Oscar night with aplomb, with Ke Huy Quan also winning Best Supporting Actor.

Those who have grown up watching Curtis on the big screen can appreciate what a cool moment this is. It’s always great when veteran actors can have their time in the sun, and Curtis was incredibly deserving for this award.

Her speech showed how much it meant for her to finally get her due.
