Jamie Foxx proved he was very much on the road to recovery as he was spotted on a boat ride down the Chicago River before tweeting about his "blessed" day over the weekend.
The sighting comes after a "medical complication", which is said to have occurred while he was working on the Netflix film Back in Action, saw him hospitalised in April. The incident required an extensive hospital stay for the Hollywood star and attendance at a physical rehab centre.
However, not everyone seems to be overcome with gratitude for the 55 year old's health being back on track, as some have appeared to question his recent sightings.
In fact, many have gone as far as to claim in a bizarre and unfounded theory that the newly emerged picture of Jamie is a stunt double after it was reported the lookalike was used to finish the filming of his upcoming flick.
Taking to Twitter, one person wrote about the recent picture of him smiling and waving from the boat: "So am I the only one who thinks this is his stunt double? The man was in rehab which would indicate that he possibly has motor skill issues & he shows up on a rockin boat. #jamiefoxx."
Another said of the odd theory: "I don't think that is Jamie Foxx. Looks like a stunt double to me," while a third added: "This is his stunt double who completed the film him and Cameron Diaz wee working on. This isn't the real Jamie Foxx."
While the theorists continue to speculate on Twitter, the Ray actor looked in great spirits as he acknowledged fans and even threw up a peace sign as he cruised down the river in Chicago.
During his sighting on the boat, which doubled as a promotional event for his Brown Sugar Bourbon brand, Jamie wore an all-black outfit and aviator sunglasses and smiled brightly at fans who had seen him for the first time since the health scare.
Confirming that he had the best day, the Oscar-winning actor tweeted on Sunday: "Boat life. Celebrating summer with @brownsugarbbn. Stay blessed!"
He has yet to address his health struggle publicly. There have since been some updates about his recovery from those close to him, with it now claimed that Jamie - whose credits include the films Ray (2004) and Django Unchained (2012) - is "still not himself".
Discussing the actor's health, a source told People magazine this week: "He is getting the best care and working hard to recover right now, but he is still not himself."
The source further stated that those close to Jamie remain tight-lipped about his health, with them telling the outlet recently: "He has the tightest circle around him".
