Jamie Carragher has hailed 'brilliant' Newcastle United for a devastating first-half display against Tottenham but has slammed the visitors as 'disgraceful'. Eddie Howe's side blitzed their top-four rivals with an astonishing opening 21 minutes, netting five times.
Jacob Murphy kicked off proceedings after only two minutes, pouncing on a rebound at the Leazes End. Joelinton doubled this lead only four minutes' later, rounding Hugo Lloris following a superb pass from Fabian Schar.
Murphy grabbed his second of the game after nine minutes, emphatically beating Lloris from distance. Alexander Isak then got in on the act with a quickfire brace, first latching on to a stunning pass from Joe Willock to score before adding the team's fifth with an effort inside the box.

Carragher has regularly praised Newcastle this term, and recently stood by his prediction that the Magpies would qualify for the Champions League next season. The Sky Sports pundit took to social media during the scarcely believable first-half showing to not only applaud Eddie Howe's side again, but also hammered Tottenham for their shambolic display while calling for Antonio Conte's successor to be appointed sooner rather than later.
He posted: "Newcastle are brilliant, they have been all season. Tottenham are a disgrace! How have they gone to a back four for the first time this season, with Porro a full back that can’t defend & Perisic who is a winger
"Get a proper manager in right now, not Conte’s mate."
