Jamie Carragher sends Conor Coady one-word message as ex-Liverpool defender makes Everton transfer

Jamie Carragher shared a light-hearted joke with former Liverpool defender Conor Coady after his season-long loan move to Everton was this evening confirmed.

The 29-year-old has joined the Blues from Wolves until the end of the current campaign, with Frank Lampard' side possessing the option to turn this into a permanent transfer. During his first official interview as an Everton player, Coady stressed he was 'desperate' to join the club after learning of interest from Frank Lampard's side.

Such a statement may come as a surprise to some given the defender's allegiance to Liverpool, a club he joined as a teenager and grew up supporting. Coady progressed through the Reds' Academy system and would go on to make two senior appearances before leaving for Huddersfield Town in 2014.
