Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has taken the chance to mock Peter Schmeichel following Manchester United's defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.
Speaking to CBS last month, Schmeichel had pundits Carragher, Micah Richards and Thierry Henry in stitches when asked if his former side could win the Champions League. The ex-United shot-stopper replied: "Yes. What kind of question is that?"
Just a couple of weeks on from his comments, Schmeichel was again asked for his thoughts on Ralf Rangnick's team after they were on the receiving end of a 4-1 drubbing by rivals City on Sunday. He told CBS: "Welcome back to the studio. It's been a very very mixed bag.

"As I watched my son [Kasper Schmeichel] play against Leeds on Saturday and they won 1-0 - two consecutive clean sheets and six points, that was brilliant. Then on Sunday seeing Manchester United... I wouldn't say 'play' Man City but 'be outplayed' by Man City. Basically, we've been exposed to the level that we're at."
Before he could continue, Carragher sarcastically asked: "So you still think they can win the Champions League?"
Schmeichel laughed before responding: "That was in the Premier League. Let's take it one game at a time."
United's Champions League status is finely poised with their tie with Atleti level at 1-1. The return fixture will take place on Tuesday, March 15.
