Jamie Carragher believes Newcastle United played like Atletico Madrid in the closing stages of their victory over Chelsea. Joe Willock scored the only goal of the game at St James' Park to lift the Magpies back into third spot ahead of the World Cup break.
Graham Potter's side arrived on Tyneside in poor form, and were setup to try and frustrate the hosts. However, Willock's goal paved the way for a host of attacking changes and set the stage for a frantic finale.
Seven minutes were added on, and the final minutes saw a number of fouls and full-blooded challenges. Tensions boiled over following the full-time whistle, with Dan Burn and Kai Havertz seemingly at the centre of the on-field confrontation.

Carragher believes the hosts' approach to hold on to the lead in stoppage time was reminiscent of Atletico Madrid in recent seasons under Diego Simeone. The former Liverpool defender also believes Eddie Howe is 'getting more' from his squad than any of his rival Premier League managers.
The former Liverpool defender wrote on social media: "Newcastle like Atletico Madrid in the last 10 mins! Eddie Howe is getting more from his players than any other manager in the PL. While you can’t believe Chelsea spent £275M in the summer, on a team that was very good in the last couple of years."
