Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher has admitted that he has been impressed with Arsenal's transfer business this summer.
The north London outfit have spent over £110million on five-first team additions, bringing in former Manchester City duo Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, as well as goalkeeper Matt Turner, winger Marquinhos and highly-rated midfielder Fabio Vieira. This kind of business has caught the eye of Carragher, singling out Jesus and Zinchenko in particular as smart acquisitions.
Speaking on the Overlap YouTube Channel, he said: "I think with Arsenal, we spoke last season about it being a big chance and they've now got European football, I know [Europa League is] not what they wanted, but it's how they deal with that sort of more games this season, they had a big advantage last year. But the two positions that they filled just stood out like a mile last season when you were watching Arsenal.
