Jamie Carragher clashed with Joe Weller in a Charity match back in 2016, referring to the YouTuber as a "stupid little p***k".
The former Liverpool centre-half called time on his career in 2013 having spent his whole career at Anfield. He has since become a leading light in the punditry arena, but is known to put his boots back on from time to time.
He did so six years ago as EE put on the Wembley Cup, which saw Spencer FC and Weller Wanderers square off as a host of internet stars and influencers pitted themselves against the likes of Robert Pires, Peter Schmeichel, Jay Jay Okocha, Robbie Fowler and Patrick Kluivert at the home of football.
Weller himself attempted to incite a rivalry with Carragher, calling him out on social media before the game. He said: "Hope ur ready @carra23". He may well have regretted that later after the former Liverpool man caught him with his studs in the 56th minute, which left Weller in pain.
Carragher appeared to have little sympathy as he was caught on camera saying: "stupid little p***k". Weller issued a video in response, tearing into the former Red.
He said: "Fair enough, for the majority of the game I was in his back pocket. He was a professional footballer - he played in the Premier League two seasons ago. But mate, why are you elbowing people in the face? And just kicking me?! What are you doing?
"When he did foul us, he would never say sorry or show an ounce of class, he would call us a ‘f****** stupid little p****’. I mean, a 40-year-old bloke! What are you doing? Just grow up!”
Carragher has confirmed he would do it all again, though, if he was given the opportunity, claiming Weller was acting a "big star" on the pitch.
He said on a Q&A feature on Soccer AM's YouTube channel: "He was just annoying me in the game, I'd never heard of him, supposedly a big star on YouTube, he was acting the 'big star' on the pitch, so I gave him a slap. I loved munching Joe Weller in that game and if I get a chance I'll be doing it again."
A host of YouTube stars will be teaming up this weekend in another charity contest at The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic, this Saturday. KSI will lead his fellow Sidemen members Josh Bradley, Simon Minter, Tobi Brown, Ethan Payne, Vikram Barn and Harry Lewis against a selection of YouTube All Stars with Logan Paul also getting involved.
