Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has responded to a message sent in the early hours of the morning from Everton forward Richarlison.
The message came after the Blues secured their Premier League survival with a 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Thursday night. Celebrations from Everton fans and players went long into the night, including a pitch invasion before and after the full-time whistle.
And Richarlison was clearly still up when he took to social media in the early hours of Friday morning to address Carragher.
It was 1.37am when the Brazil international tweeted: "@Carra23 wash your mouth before you talk about me and Everton and I don't respect you."
During last month's Merseyside derby at Anfield, which Liverpool won 2-0, Carragher said on commentary for Sky Sports after Richarlison went down injured: “Honestly, get up, every week I watch him play like that! Get up, carry on.
“He’s been down three times already, [there’s] nothing wrong with him.”
In response to Richarlison’s tweet, Carragher saw the funny side, admitting that he would have reacted similarly if he was a player nowadays.
Carragher replied by saying: “I actually quite like this, if Twitter was about when I was a player I’m sure I would’ve called pundits out quite a lot!!”
Former Manchester United captain and Carragher's Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville also replied to Richarlison's tweet.
He wrote: "Know how you feel mate."
