Former Everton midfielder James Rodriguez has agreed to terminate his contract at Greek side Olympiacos - leaving the 31-year-old as a free agent.
Rodriguez, who reunited with Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park in the summer of 2020, joined the Greek Super League side in September 2022. It came just days after ending his 12-month stint at Qatari side Al-Rayyan.
However, his return to Europe has last just over six months and now the former Real Madrid Galactico finds himself without a club after Olympiacos released a statement confirming the midfielder's departure.

"Olympiacos and James Rodriguez have decided to terminate their cooperation," read a statement posted to Twitter on Thursday afternoon. "James will always be part of our club and a member of the "red-and-white" family. We want to thank him for his service and we wish him every success in the future."
The Colombian also took to social media to pay his respects to the Greek side, where he made a total of 22 appearances and scored five goals.
"I would like to thank everyone for all the time that we have spent together," tweeted Rodriguez. "Although we are going our separate ways, I feel that I will always be a member and welcomed in the family of the great port Piraeus. I wish all the best to Olympiacos and every success in the future."
It has been a turbulent two years for the 31-year-old since leaving Goodison Park shortly after the appointment of Rafa Benitez in the summer of 2021. Rodriguez, who established himself as a Blues fans' favourite during his one season at the club despite the behind-closed-doors Premier League fixtures, has yet to find a long-term home and has therefore seen his place in the Colombian national team come under threat.
