Update: Threads-advocate James Gunn has returned to the social media platform to clarify that the "sequel" isn't Superman 2, but the same sequel-adjacent project he's previously discussed: "This is the same movie. Superman has a major role. It's not "Superman 2."'

James Gunn has apparently just confirmed a Superman sequel will be happening, despite originally hinting that a straightforward follow-up wasn't going to arrive.
