Talk show host, comedian and actor James Corden was banned from a New York restaurant and branded "the most abusive customer" in a row exposed by the owner
Keith McNally, owner of famous NYC restaurant Balthazar, called out Corden for his alleged treatment of the restaurant's staff.
McNally posted on his Instagram saying: "James Corden is a Hugely gifted comedian, but a tiny Cretin of a man. And the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago. I don't often 86 a customer, to today I 86'd Corden. It did not make me laugh."
However, the restaurateur has since taken back the ban saying "all is forgiven" after Corden allegedly "apologised profusely" for his behaviour.
Amid this controversy, here's a look at when James Corden might be returning to the UK and what he's worth.
When is James Corden returning to the UK?
James Corden is likely to return to the UK after his time on The Late Late Show comes to an end in spring 2023.
Corden, who began hosting the late night talk show in 2015, announced his decision to leave in April this year.
He said in a statement: “This will be my last year hosting the show. When I started this journey, it was always going to be just that. It was going to be a journey, an adventure. I never saw it as my final destination, you know? And I never want this show to overstay its welcome in any way.
“I always want to love making it. And I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on and see what else might be out there… this has been the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make, it really has. I’ve never taken this job for granted."
Ben Turner, a co-founder of Corden's production company Fulwell 73, later confirmed that the host would return to the UK after wrapping his Late Late Show duties.
He said: "We’re just really excited about having him back in the UK, and all the stuff that that entails, but it is a big moment for us."
What is James Corden's net worth?
James Corden is estimated to have a net worth of £50million, mainly from his talk show earnings and production company.
His salary for the Late Late Show has been reported to be between £4 -£7m.
In January 2022, his production company - which produces the show - had a turnover of £32.4m, with Corden's share of the company's £140m assets being around £28m.
Corden also has a home in LA worth between £7.5m and £10m and he reportedly also sold his London house for around £6m last year.
