One of James Bulger's notorious killers could potentially walk free from prison as he faces an upcoming parole hearing in the next few days despite being found guilty of a number of heinous crimes since his previous release. Evil Jon Venables was only 10 years old when he and fellow murderer friend Robert Thompson abducted little James from a shopping centre in Bootle, Liverpool, in 1993 before they went on to sickeningly torture and kill the innocent two-year-old.
After serving a mere eight years sentence, the wicked pair both walked free in 2001, Manchester Evening News reports. While Thompson has seemingly managed to steer clear of anymore criminal activity, Venables has reoffended over four times and has been sent back to prison on two different occasions as a result of his vile crimes.
In 2018, he served a jail sentence of 40 months after he was discovered to be in possession of a stash of child sex images that were stored on his computer for a second time but regardless of this, the killer is still eligible for a parole meeting hearing within the next couple of days. Amid fears that her son's killer could be released from prison, Jamie's mum Denise Fergus has written to Liz Truss pleading with her to step in to block Venables' bid for freedom.
