James Bentley was sent-off 16 minutes into his Leeds Rhinos debut as the forward endured a nightmare start to his Headingley career.
Bentley, a boyhood Rhinos fan who grew up on the terraces at Headingley, was given his marching orders for a swinging arm that connected with the head of Gareth Widdop.
The forward, who arrived from St Helens in the off-season, appeared shocked when referee Chris Kendall pulled out the red card.
The Headingley fans were also both stunned and angry at the decision, with Bentley now facing a ban.
It was a bitterly disappointing start for Bentley, who was sent off at a key moment with Leeds trailing 4-0.
That said, the Rhinos would respond superbly with Zane Tetevano and Matt Prior putting them ahead before half-time.
Bentley, who also spent time with Bradford Bulls, may have to wait a little longer to play for the Rhinos again.
