James Argent looks worlds away from old TOWIE self as he sheds more weight

James 'Arg' Argent looked like a brand new person while running errands in his home town after losing even more weight.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star underwent gastric surgery in Spring last year and lost a whopping 13 stone.

He had gained a lot of weight rapidly, reaching 27 stone, when the coronavirus pandemic hit and he ended up binge-eating a large amount of junk food and fizzy drinks.

But now, the star is focusing on gaining weight to achieve a size he is happy with.

The 34-year-old was recently spotted looking trimmer than ever as he stepped out to run errands around town.

Arg was wearing baggy black sweatpants, a loose-fitting white t-shirt, and a black hoodie that was wrapped around his waist.

Previously speaking about needing to gain weight, the former TOWIE cast member told The Sun : "This is the first time in my life that I like the way I look too - I don’t feel ugly anymore - I’m content and happy with my appearance.

"The only problem now is I’ve lost a little bit too much weight and I need to put on half a stone,” he laughed.

"Everyone thinks it’s hilarious, we didn’t think we’d ever be in this situation but it’s one thing or another with me - that’s just me!”

At the beginning of the pandemic, Arg reached 26 st 13lb after eating a worrying amount of junk food during the lockdown.

Doctors then told him that he had to 'lose weight or die' which cause Arg to turn his life around.

He had a gastric sleeve operation last April, which cost £10,000.

He said at the time: "I don’t want to die. An op is the only way I can lose weight."

"Before my big operation in April, which was the best thing I've ever done, I would substitute booze and drugs for food - but now my portion control is managed due to the gastric sleeve, I can’t turn to food anymore."

Last month, the TV personality confessed he experienced a relapse after suffering a 'blip' which saw him break two years of sobriety during a night out with friends.

On the bright side, Arg admitted that 'everything is positive now'.

Speaking on Loose Women recently, the reality star discussed his 'blip' but said that he was 'feeling okay' again after 'getting cocky and confident' with his sobriety.

Arg revealed that being isolated in his Essex pad was one of the main reasons for his relapse.
