Jameela Jamil has shared her "excruciating regret" following the tragic death of her friend Isabelle Thomas aged 39.
The British aristocrat is reported to have been found lying by the pool area at the Hotel Angeleno in Los Angeles on Monday night. She was married to Hollywood film producer Bradley Thomas, known most recently for his work on the Oscar-nominated Killers of the Flower Moon.
The couple have twin daughters named Poppy and Grace, with Ms Thomas also a stepmother to her husband's older children Lucy and Charlie.
Following her friend's sudden passing, Jamil, 37, shared her grief on Instagram, explaining she had planned to see Ms Thomas a few weeks prior but couldn't due to work commitments.
She also posted a photo of Ms Thomas with one of her daughters on her Instagram Stories alongside the caption: "Love you forever."
In a heartbreaking Instagram post, she reminded followers to "put loved ones first" and admitted she doesn't think she "will ever recover" from Ms Thomas' passing.
The photo she shared to her feed read: "I was supposed to see her a few weeks ago and couldn't because I was busy with stupid f**king work.
"I missed the chance to tell her I love her. And to hold her one last time."Writing in the caption, she penned: "I lost a friend very suddenly this week. Don't wait til later.
"Don't presume you can just grow old together. Don't presume the world is fair or makes sense.
"Don't take anyone or anything you love for granted for a minute. My heart is completely and utterly broken and I don't think I will ever recover."
Fans and friends of the British star rushed to the comment section to offer words of support for the grieving actress.
"Thank you for this reminder. Your heart is so big I know it’s hurting right now and all of us who you constantly show up for help are sending you healing hugs and so much love," model Iskra Lawrence commented.
This Is Us actress Chrissy Metz wrote: "I am so sorry. Wrapping you in love."
"I am so sorry for your loss. Holding you in my heart," Ricki Lake shared.
A fan added: "So sorry for your loss. This happened to me about 6 years ago. I returned a call a day too late.
"She would have known how much you loved her. Please be kind to yourself, grieving is hard enough."
Mrs Thomas was found lying by the pool area of the Hotel Angeleno on Monday night.
The Los Angeles coroner's office has listed the death as suicide, with the official cause as "multiple traumatic injuries" consistent with a major fall, according to reports.
