Loose Women's Linda Robson has recalled how the late Jamal Edwards took her son "under his wing" and supported his music dreams.
The ITV daytime show aired an incredible and heartbreaking tribute to the late music mogul on Monday lunchtime as they all paid tribute to the incredible star, who was the son of their fellow panellist Brenda Edwards.
Linda first met Jamal over a decade ago when her son Louis started writing his own songs and putting them up on social media, as she paid tribute to the music mogul for being the "loveliest boy" and a "true gentleman".
"He said he'd like to do a video and came to our house and he was the loveliest boy. I was dreading it - I thought, 'A film crew's going to be in my house now,'" Linda recalled on today's show.
"But he just turned up with a camera man - Louis was really nervous because it was his first time and he just made him feel really comfortable. They took the song and put it on social media and it did really, really well."
Linda also thanked Jamal for taking her son under his wing and teaching him about the industry first hand.
Speaking about the effect Jamal had on her son, she added: "Jamal kept in touch with Louis over the years and took him under his wing. Took him to the BRITs, took him out socially with him as well.
"Brenda did such a good job with her son because he was a proper gentleman, he really was. He was the loveliest boy. "Thanks to Jamal now, my son is going on tour this year with Jake Bugg. All of this because of Jamal all those years ago."
Jamal's mum Brenda confirmed the star's sad passing earlier today in a heartfelt statement.
"It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness. Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated," she said.
"He was the centre of our world. As we come to terms with his passing, we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support. Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."
During the show, host Charlene slammed social media stars who revealed the news of Jamal's death before Brenda.
"One man changed the UK music scene in a way we've not seen in decades," she said.
"But what people have to understand that there is work life and there's family life and there's home life and it should have been Brenda who was able to choose when the world got to know about his death."
