Jake Paul would be willing to forgo his expected $20million purse for his showdown with KSI next year in order to fight his rival for free if it meant making the deal happen.
Verbal agreements have already been made for Paul to come to London and face KSI at Wembley Stadium next year, but there is still a long way to go in negotiations between the two parties. Despite winning twice by knockout in his ring return on Saturday night, KSI wants another tune-up fight in January before his bout with Paul is confirmed.
And the American has doubled down on his offer to face KSI for free, even though just today his promotional company claimed that the bout will be difficult to sanction. Speaking on his podcast BS with Jake Paul, the fighter told rapper Rick Ross that the finances aren't important to him when it comes to fighting his long-time rival.
When Ross, who recorded the top 10 hit Down Like That with KSI in 2019 to coincide with his fight against Jake's older brother Logan, suggested that he would never let his pal fight for free, he responded: "For me, this is not about the money.
"You wouldn't let me, but it's for history. For me knocking out this b**** a** motherf***er who talked all this s***. If the only way he would fight me is if he made all the money, I'm going to do it. Say I make $20m off the fight, guess what? Jake Paul's not worth $20m I'm worth $1billion.
"So I don't give a f*** about $20m for me to cement my name in the history books as one of the craziest most psychotic fighters ever. 'He was willing to fight this guy on 20 days' notice for free when he could have made $20-30m?' That would be legendary."

Ross, whose Instagram name is "RichForever" and is known for his financial investments on top of his rap career, was horrified that Paul would suggest such a thing. However, that horror turned to laughter when he learned that KSI had turned down the offer to fight for free, instead opting to face Swarmz and Luis Pineda last Saturday night.
"He turned down the free offer?" Ross asked, amazed, before admitting that KSI had reached out to him about another musical collaboration. "I smell p**** - fighting for free and he didn't take the bag..."
Now, Paul does seem set to make major money against KSI in a stadium fight next summer despite his promotional outlet raising concerns that the fight couldn't be sanctioned. The two fights on Saturday night took place under seemingly professional rules and were sanctioned by the PBA, not the British Boxing Board of Control. However, three round fights generally don't happen at the professional level and neither win appears on KSI's official professional record of 1-0.
