Jake Paul tipped to lose to '90-year-old' Anderson Silva in potential boxing fight

Jake Paul has been warned that he could lose to "90-year-old" Anderson Silva if the pair meet in the boxing ring.

The YouTube star has already met former UFC stars in crossover bouts, defeating Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley during a successful 2021.

He has spoken of facing his "idol" Silva after the Brazilian star made the switch across to the ring after retiring from the UFC.

But former UFC champion Michael Bisping believes Silva still possesses the skillset to beat Paul and has branded the YouTube fighter's bouts a "shower of s***."

"I've seen his [ Jake Paul ] fights," Bisping said on his YouTube channel. "I've seen that he is a shower of s***.

"I've seen that he picks on small guys and from a different sport. And I've also seen that he might be talking about going out after Anderson Silva. Again, that's his MO. Anderson Silva is about 90 now, even though I think Anderson can still beat him."

Silva has already fought in the ring after his UFC retirement, picking up a victory against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in his maiden ring appearance.

He later fought Tito Ortiz on a Triller card which continued his undefeated run in the boxing ring.

The Brazilian is seen as possessing natural boxing ability despite being far beyond the prime years of his career at the age of 46.

Paul is awaiting a challenge from a next opponent and is yet to consider his next option despite admitting he plans to become world champion in the sport.

Silva was previously suggested as an opponent by former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew who also backed the former UFC star to compete against Paul.

Paul has also admitted he is a huge fan of his "idol" Silva and would happily explore the option of facing Silva who has previously been in talks with his brother Logan.

"Yes, definitely," Paul told the MMA Hour. "I would love that fight. And interesting story, I think he was the first celebrity I ever saw.

"So right when MMA was blowing up, my dad was a super big fan and we went to this local MMA event. And they must have paid Anderson Silva to come because it was like in Ohio, so I don’t know why he would have been there.

"But I actually asked for his autograph. And we took a picture with him… I’m maybe like 12 years old. But I think he was the first celebrity that I met. So it would be fun to bring it back full circle and fight someone who was, I guess, one of my first idols.”

The 25-year-old would hold a significant age advantage on Silva and previously claimed he would only take the fight if significant medical checks had been taken and the fight was sanctioned.
