Jake Paul's mother says Amanda Serrano was 'robbed' against Katie Taylor

Jake Paul's mother has echoed her son's sensational comments that Amanda Serrano was 'robbed' against Katie Taylor.

The Bray Bomber was the winner in the eyes of the vast majority of people inside Madison Square Garden for the mega-fight, including two of the three judges who scored the bout in her favour with scores of 97-93 and 96-93.

Their scores gave Taylor a split decision win after the other judge scored the bout 96-94 to Serrano.

In the immediate aftermath of the fight, Youtuber turned boxer Paul, who is Serrano's promoter, claimed that his fighter had been 'robbed'.

He told DAZN: “It was a draw at best. We thought we won, we thought Amanda won.

“Amanda performed well, but fight of a lifetime. That was Arturo Gatti versus Micky Ward. That was incredible, both women fought their hearts out. This is a historic moment.

“The crowd is booing but everyone is a winner here tonight. I’d be mad if I was them too. Kudos to Katie Taylor, what she’s done for women’s boxing.

“Kudos to Amanda Serrano, you’ve got to give credit where credit is due. And let’s run it back, September, October. The second fight just got a whole lot bigger.”

Paul later claimed that Serrano landed more punches than Taylor during the fight and said she should have won as a result.

He tweeted: "Amanda Serrano out landed Katie Taylor in landed punches both to the body and head. Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don’t."

His mother Pamela Ann Stepnick also claimed that Serrano was 'robbed' following the April 30 fight.

She tweeted: "MOST DEFINITELY ROBBED!"

Serrano was originally gracious in defeat, but said over the weekend that she now believes she won the fight, much to the annoyance of Taylor fans.

The Puerto Rican tweeted: "One week later…Had a chance to reflect on the fight against Katie. It was very close, but I did not lose. That I am certain of. Next time I will leave no doubt. Can’t Wait!

"I walked in a champ and I walked out a champ."

Meanwhile, Taylor has reiterated her desire to face Serrano at Croke Park later this year.

The undisputed and undefeated lightweight champion, who took in Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's shock defeat to Dmitry Bivol in Las Vegas over the weekend, told DAZN: “A rematch would be brilliant. I’m up for any challenge, I want to fight the best out there.

“I would absolutely love to fight in Ireland. A big fight in Croke Park with 80,000 people. That would probably be the only thing that could top what happened last week.

“Imagine filling 80,000 seats that would be very, very special. It would be easy to sell as well I think.”
