Jake Paul has claimed Tommy Fury will be paid $1.5million for his fight with KSI this October, likely to take place at the AO Arena in Manchester.
The American YouTube star faced Fury in Saudi Arabia this February, with the pair earning significantly more than that for their effort due to to huge payouts offered in the Middle East relative to market value. But it will be another big purse for the 24-year-old, who has seemingly swapped his world title ambitions for a move into the influencer boxing space.
Fury defeated Paul by split decision, although despite being knocked down in the eighth he dominated the fight in most viewer's eyes. Even though the pair had a rematch clause, it is expected that they will each take on another bout in the meantime before facing off sometime early next year.
Speaking on his podcast BS with Jake Paul, the American leaked the purse when he said: "KSI is offering you like $1.5m which is way underpaid for Tommy, especially coming off that win, Tommy should be making $5-6m and it's crazy and bizarre to me that Tommy is even entertaining that.
"But whatever he wants to do that's why I put out the offer like 'yeah let's run it in October' which is when that fight's going to be anyways. I'm ready, Tommy knows it's a bigger fight and bigger payday." However, KSI's promoter Mams Taylor has denied Paul's purse claim, writing in an Instagram comment "Absolute nonsense! This kid is so sour."
It is believed Fury's purse was in the region of double the reported number for the fight in Saudi Arabia, which was far and away his biggest payday to date. However, fights in Saudi Arabia tend to see fighters paid way above the odds as the nation looks to establish itself as one of the new homes of boxing.

KSI and Fury have agreed terms for a fight that is likely to take place in Manchester this October, but signatures have yet to go on contracts. It is expected that the YouTube star will jump up to 185lb in order to accommodate Fury who has seemingly given up on his ambitions of ever making light-heavyweight.
"I obviously always wanted to do the rematch," Paul added. "But it seems like KSI is kind of bulls****ing him and doesn't want to make the whole entire weight situation work out. KSI loves to weight drain people as much as possible, I don't know if the fight's actually going to go through.
"KSI is delusional and he has the craziest ego and he thinks he's way better than he is. Tommy's going to knock him the f*** out but he's going to learn, that's fine."
