Jake Paul has joked that Canelo Alvarez may have to face him in his next fight if he loses twice in a row by tasting defeat against Gennady Golovkin this weekend.
The Alvarez vs Golovkin trilogy has been one of the most exciting in the sport's history, with the final instalment set to take place on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Alvarez won their last meeting in 2018 by way of a controversial majority decision after a draw in 2017 which many felt Golovkin had done enough to win.
However, the Mexican has been made a huge favourite for their third meeting as they move up to super-middleweight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. But if Golovkin is to land the upset, Paul believes that it will be disastrous for Alvarez's career, and feels that it could push a fight between he and the legendary multiple-weight world champion.
