Jake Paul has declared his intention to become a world champion in boxing, while taking another swipe at Tommy Fury.
The American YouTuber-turned-boxer was due to face-off against Fury in December until the Manchester fighter was forced to pull out of the bout due to a broken rib and bacterial chest infection.
Paul would instead face a rematch against Tyron Woodley, securing a knockout win, and has questioned the legitimacy of Fury's injury ever since.
While Fury has regularly pushed for the cancelled bout to be rescheduled, Paul has so far refused to do so and it's unlikely his stance will change.
Now at the start of a busy week in the UK for Paul, as he promotes the unification bout between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, he has responded to his critics and outlined his goals.
"I tried to fight a real boxer and he faked an injury and that's Tommy Fury, who is from a legendary bloodline," he told talkSPORT.
"It would have been worse for Tommy Fury, he can't take a punch like Tyron so he was lucky that fight didn't happen.
"I was ready to fight the pro boxer, I had a poster up in my gym of Eddie (Hearn) that said 'when are you going to fight a real boxer?' I was looking at it every day while I was training because he was one of the first people to say it.
"I tried, it's only been two years since my professional debut and I've just continued to increase my level of opposition and continued to prove people wrong.
"I have a long way to go and I know I can become a world champion because I spar against world champions, I have great coaches, an amazing team around me and I have a giant chip on my shoulder. I want to prove everyone wrong and I'm going to just for fun."
