Ryan Garcia believes Jake Paul is capable of going the distance in a professional showdown with Floyd Mayweather.
YouTube star Paul has been embroiled in a bitter feud with boxing legend Mayweather since the influencer stole his hat at a press event to promote Mayweather's exhibition with Paul's brother Logan. Since then the pair have exchanged in heated back-and-forth with the 'Problem Child' also making regular plays to try and force through a showdown this year.
A video emerged of Paul being jumped by Mayweather and his entourage outside an NBA match in Miami last week, where the influencer decided to leave to prevent any physical altercation after a verbal battle. This escalated the rivalry further and Paul once again claimed he would beat Mayweather in a boxing duel afterwards.
Lightweight star Ryan Garcia, who will challenge Floyd Mayweather's ex-protege Gervonta Davis next month, has suggested the boxing legend would always get the better of Paul. "You know what, man, Floyd’s getting up there in age," he said. "He’ll probably still beat up Jake, but guess what?
"Jake won’t get knocked out. 100 per cent that. He couldn’t knock out Logan. “You shouldn’t be running up on a guy with fifty dudes. That just isn't right.” Paul lost his first boxing fight against Tommy Fury last month but has made it his mission to secure redemption alongside a potential fight with Mayweather.
'Money' is currently fighting on the exhibition circuit which would likely be the only way the pair would meet given the size discrepancy and Mayweather's desire to stay away from competitive meetings. Nonetheless Paul issued a video challenge to the retired star following their altercation last week as he seeks vengeance inside a sanctioned ring.
