Jake Paul has accused Conor McGregor of "ducking" a potential fight with him in the aftermath of their heated Twitter exchange last night.
Paul was co-promoting Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden in New York, and was across the broadcast as a commentator before walking the challenger to the ring. McGregor was watching from home in support of fellow Irish fighter Taylor, and couldn't resist taking a pop at the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
McGregor mocked Paul for his "Jimmy Saville" glasses, with the social media star firing back with a tirade of his own saying that he was a better ambassador for fighters than the Irishman.
And during the post-fight press conference, Paul was asked about McGregor's comments, where he insisted that the former two-weight UFC world champion was avoiding a fight between the pair. "It is what it is," Paul told media members in New York. "Of course Conor's watching to support Katie.
"We had a little bit of banter back-and-forth, but of course he always has something to say but he doesn't really have a place to talk. He hasn't won a fight in five years, Dana [White, UFC president] owns him and I'm the one that got Katie Taylor a big payday and that's his hero.
"Conor McGregor's not tall enough to ride a rollercoaster and I feel bad for him because he's ducking me. But we'll get that settled one day."
Paul has been promoting Serrano for the past few months, and has elevated her from having a cult following in the boxing world to headlining a massive event at Madison Square Garden. A capacity crowd filled out the iconic arena to watch her and Taylor play out a thrilling split decision, which narrowly went the Irishwoman's way.

McGregor tweeted after the fight "Who the f*** is this jacka** in the pink Jimmy Saville glasses?" Paul was quick to respond, saying: "I'm the one who has done more for fighters than you ever have; the one who has won five fights in the past two years while you have lost five.
"The one who isn’t owned by Dana White, the one who made the fight you just watched happen, the one who got your hero Katie Taylor paid, that’s who."
Taylor and Serrano are now seemingly set to rematch after the razor-close decision, which Paul branded a robbery. Promoter Eddie Hearn has teased a potential fight in Dublin's Croke Park. He has also indicated that Madison Square Garden executives were keen to have the next chapter in the feud take place in their venue.
