In a remarkable display of skill and precision, a new member has joined the exclusive sub-60 club on the PGA Tour. Jake Knapp, currently ranked 99th in the world of golf, achieved this feat during the opening round of the Cognizant Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Knapp's stellar performance saw him shoot a bogey-free 59, becoming the 14th player in PGA Tour history to accomplish such a remarkable round. This achievement marks the 15th time that a player has broken the 60-stroke barrier in a PGA Tour event.
While Knapp's score of 59 is certainly impressive, it fell just one stroke short of the tour scoring record of 58, set by Jim Furyk during the final round of the 2016 Travelers Championship. Notably, Furyk is the only player to have carded a sub-60 round twice in PGA Tour history.
This exceptional performance by Knapp underscores the level of talent and skill present on the PGA Tour. His flawless round is a testament to his dedication and ability to excel under pressure on one of golf's most prestigious stages.
