Australian moguls skiers Jakara Anthony and Matt Graham have claimed a rare golden double, both topping the podium at the FIS World Cup event at Deer Valley in Utah.
It is just the second time in World Cup history that Australia has won both men's and women's events on the same day — matching Graham and Britt Cox's double gold in Calgary in 2017.
Graham, an Olympic silver medallist and overall World Cup winner in 2021, endured a disappointing Winter Games in Beijing after suffering a broken collarbone in the build-up.
That meant the victory on Park City's "Champions Run" was extra significant.
"It's a surreal feeling," Graham told the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia after collecting his medal.
"It was a tough, long day today. The course was eating people all day. I was just happy to find my line and rip it each run."
Graham beat overall World Cup leader Canadian Mikaël Kingsbury into second with a personal best score of 85.35 in the super final.
Kingsbury scored 83.65 points while Benjamin Cavet of France claimed bronze with 81.82.
"I love this event. I had my first ever win here in 2016 so it's good to be back up here and stand on top of the podium," Graham said.
Graham's last World Cup victory came six years ago as part of that double with Cox — before he won silver in Pyeongchang at the 2018 Winter Games.
The 26-year-old said it was special to share the podium with another teammate.
"I went back-to-back with Britt Cox in 2017 in Calgary, and now to get the back-to-back wins with Jakara is super special," he said.
It was Graham's fourth World Cup victory and 20th podium.
For Olympic champion Anthony, the victory underlined her total dominance on the moguls since winning Olympic gold almost 12 months ago.
Anthony scored 80.15 points with another sublime display of skiing, with Jaelin Kauf in second on 77.35 and Perrine Laffont third with 77.17.
Anri Kawamura, the only woman to beat Anthony in a moguls run this season, crashed out of her run in the super final.
This was Anthony's fourth gold from five individual moguls events this season and saw the 24-year-old take an unassailable lead in the season rankings to claim her third Crystal Globe as overall World Cup leader.
"It's incredible," Anthony said.
"The last time was Matt and Britt Cox, so to take that top step with Matt, who I have taken a second place with before and to now take the top step is absolutely incredible.
"He ripped out there. His run was phenomenal."
