A Brazilian drug trafficker tried a daring prison escape by dressing up as his teenage daughter, but his plan fell apart when guards noticed he was acting strangely at the exit gate. Clauvino da Silva, a high-ranking member of Brazil’s Red Command gang, was caught trying to walk out of Rio de Janeiro’s Gericinó prison in August 2019. He was wearing a silicone mask, a long dark wig, tight jeans, and a pink T-shirt with cartoon donuts on it.
The 42-year-old gangster was serving a 73-year sentence. He had planned to switch places with his 19-year-old daughter Ana Gabriele Leandro da Silva during visiting hours. She would stay behind in the cell while he escaped dressed in her clothes and accessories, which included a black bra and white flip flops. But prison officials got suspicious when the person they thought was a young woman started acting nervous while asking for her ID card back at the prison entrance.
