A man whose robbery bid was foiled by a brave gran and her nephew has been jailed for 30 months.
George Kinnear, 45, brandished a claw hammer and demanded cash at family-owned Browns Newsagents in Cardonald on December 27, 2021.
Kinnear was thwarted by staff member Christopher Brown, 26, who leaped over the counter to pounce on him. His aunt, 4ft 11 Roseann Gibson, 63, assisted in pinning down the masked thug as the pair waited on police to arrive.

An elderly customer also helped in removing the weapon from the armed forces veteran's reach. A knife was also found on Kinnear after officers arrived.
The dramatic incident was captured on CCTV.
Kinnear pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Mr Brown with intent to rob. He also admitted having a knife in a public place without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority.
Sheriff Daniel Kelly told Kinnear that a custodial sentence was the only appropriate measure to take.
He added: "This was a serious and violent offence involving you brandishing a hammer while masked in the newsagent. This was an offence that would have been terrifying for those present.
"The victim has expressed how this has impacted on him psychologically and in relation to the family business which he is part of."
Kinnear's lawyer earlier told the sentencing that Kinnear - who was discharged from the armed forces - was on medication and had drunk alcohol on the day of the incident.
Jeffrey Rankin added: "Mr Kinnear accepts that he acted in the way described and he is deeply ashamed of his conduct. He has no memory of the offence and is shocked and disgusted by the events.
"On seeing the video, he cannot comprehend why he acted this way."
