'Jai Shri Ram' - Ishan Kishan greets Keshav Maharaj at practice ahead of RR vs MI in Jaipur

Leading the way were MI opener Ishan Kishan and RR leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who could be seen mingling with their friends in the opposition camps, while former Sri Lanka teammates Kumar Sangakkara and Lasith Malinga hugged each other. Sangakkara is the head coach of RR, and Malinga is MI's bowling coach.

In one of those moments, Ishan is seen welcoming RR's South African spinner Keshav Maharaj. After asking Maharaj if he knows Hindi, Ishan greeted him: "Jai Shri Ram".

Maharaj's deep-rooted reverence for Indian culture and spirituality is not unknown, and he also made a pilgrimage to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to seek blessings before playing in his debut IPL season.

The Royals had signed Maharaj as a replacement player for Prasidh Krishna, who had to withdraw from the season due to an injury.
