The Jacksonville Jaguars’ injury-free streak ended Friday when cornerback Shaquill Griffin was a late addition to the injury report.
Griffin, 27, was ruled questionable for Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a hip injury.
The former Seattle Seahawks cornerback joined the Jaguars as a free agent during the 2021 offseason after earning Pro Bowl honors in 2019. So far this season, he’s been a reliable starter opposite Tyson Campbell and it could be significant loss if he’s unable to play against the Chargers’ pass-heavy offense.
However, the Chargers are in danger of being without Pro Bowl quarterback Justin Herbert, who suffered a rib cartilage fracture in Week 2. The team is also trying to work Keenan Allen back into the lineup after the receiver missed Week 2 due to a hamstring injury.
The Jaguars signed former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Darious Williams in the offseason and also have Tre Herndon, Chris Claybrooks, and Montaric Brown on the active roster. Brown, a 2022 seventh-round pick, was declared inactive for the first two weeks.
