Jaguars S Andre Cisco: Adding muscle was a ‘main focus’ this offseason

The Jacksonville Jaguars were back on the practice field Monday for their first organized team activity (OTA) of the offseason, and it was impossible not to notice a difference in Andre Cisco.

When he stepped off the field for an interview after practice with Rick Ballou  of 1010XL, viewers couldn’t help but point out the muscle mass seemingly put on by the third-year safety.

“That was part of my main focus,” Cisco told Ballou of the physique change. “Just taking away from last year, I feel like last year I was working on my movement more, a little bit. Taking off some of the extra weight I had from my rookie year. So I’m just trying to balance that out, find a good middle ground.”

Cisco, 23, finished his first season as a full-time starter with three interceptions. But he also developed a reputation as an enforcer, drawing the ire of Kansas City Chiefs fans when he laid out receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling on consecutive possessions in a November game.

After clearly adding more size and strength in the months since the 2022 season ended, Cisco looks ready to deliver more big hits in the not-so-distant future.
