Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby is up for the FedEx Air and Ground NFL Player of the Week honor for his two-touchdown performance against the Colts in Week 5, a 37-34 Jacksonville victory.
Bigsby had his biggest game in what has been a breakout season for the second-year back and Jacksonville’s 2023 third-round pick, rushing for a career-high 101 yards and two touchdowns and catching one pass for 28 yards versus Indianapolis.
His impressive 7.8 yards per rushing attempt against the Colts actually brought his season-long average down to eight yards per carry. It stood at 8.2 yards entering Week 5, inflated by his seven-rush, 90-yard showing against Houston the week before.
Bigsby leads the Jaguars with 273 rushing yards this year.
“It was impressive,” Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson described Bigsby’s Week 5 performance.
“He’s aggressive, physical, kind of a one-cut guy. There are some teaching moments for us to be able to continue to show him where the hole will be and is, and he’ll take that and improve this week. But he played well, and it’s good to see from him.”
Bigsby was nominated for the honor alongside Atlanta quarterback Kirk Cousins and wide receiver Drake London, Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, and Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Fans can vote for the FedEx Air and Ground Player of the Week here, until Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET. The top two vote-getters will win the award.
