Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence to begin Week 10 limited

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will begin Week 10 limited in practice as he recovers from a left, non-throwing shoulder injury suffered in Jacksonville’s Sunday loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, head coach Doug Pederson shared with reporters on Wednesday.

Lawrence took a hit to his left shoulder by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun on a second-quarter scramble but did not miss a play and finished the game., He completed 16-of-31 passes for 169 yards, tossed two interceptions and rushed for two touchdowns.

Pederson described Lawrence as “sore” following Week 9 and expressed uncertainty about the quarterback’s status for Jacksonville’s Week 10 home matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.

“Can’t answer that today, not sitting here Wednesday, no,” Pederson remarked.

Lawrence stated shortly thereafter that he hopes to play on Sunday.

“That’s the goal. I’m doing everything that I can to be out there,” Lawrence said.

“And like when I’ve gotten banged up in the past, it’s like, I just try to do everything I can during the week to prepare myself to play Sunday and just put as much time as possible into that, and getting healthy. That’s the way my mind is right now.”

Lawrence missed the first start of his NFL career in Week 17 last season, after injuring his knee in Week 16, his ankle in Week 13, suffering a concussion in Week 15 and hurting his right shoulder in Week 16.

Lawrence has completed 168-of-274 (61.3%) of his passes for 2,004 yards with 11 touchdowns and six interceptions this season. He has rushed 25 times for 113 yards and three touchdowns.

Jacksonville reunited with former Jaguars backup quarterback C.J. Beathard Wednesday due to Lawrence’s injury, signing Beathard away from the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad.
