Hines-Allen was listed on the final Friday injury report as questionable for this matchup with a concussion after practicing in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday. He would then clear protocols on Saturday and no longer has an injury designation for this game.
Hines-Allen suffered the concussion in the Jaguars Week 4 matchup with the Houston Texans.
The Jaguars signed Hines-Allen to a contract extension this offseason worth $141.3 million over five years. Through four games this season, Hines-Allen leads the team in pressures with 15, which also ranks as the 16th-most among all defensive ends.
In addition to Hines-Allen impact as a pass rusher, he ranks 14th among his position group in run play tackles and is also 14th in PFF’s run defense grade.
The majority of Hines-Allen’s defensive snaps come on the right side of the defensive front, meaning that he will frequently be matched up with Colts’ left tackle Bernhard Raimann. By PFF’s metrics, Raimann has allowed just four pressures and ranks 33rd in run-blocking grade.
While the Jaguars will have Hines-Allen, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that tight end Evan Engram is not tracking to play. Engram hasn’t played since Week 1 but is a massive part of the Jaguars passing game, in 2023 totaling 963 receiving yards on 114 receptions with four scores.
