Jaguars agree to terms with former Falcons LB Foye Oluokun

The Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t just bolstering their offense today as the tampering period has started, but the team also has added some defensive talent.

According to multiple reports, the team agreed to terms with Atlanta Falcons linebacker Foye Oluokun. The deal is a three-year one that could reach $46.5 million with $28 million of it being fully guaranteed.

The Jags made this signing as there was a need for an interior linebacker with  Damien Wilson now becoming a free agent. Now, the Jags have turned to a younger option to join Myles Jack in the interior of Mike Caldwell’s new defense.

Oluokun has been a tackling machine in his last two seasons, garnering 117 combined tackles in 2020 and 192 (which was a league-high) last season. He’ll also come into 2022 with over 40 starts to his name with 14 occurring in 2020 and 17 occurring last season.

Caldwell has flourished with young linebackers like Oluokum and did a good job of coaching up Devin White and Lavonte Davis during his last stop in Tampa. It’s a good chance that Oluokum caught his eyes as well while both were in the NFC South, but now they will be combining their efforts to get the Jags’ defense back on track.
