The Jacksonville Jaguars will be running it back with quarterback EJ Perry. The team announced that they re-signed the undrafted rookie quarterback on Tuesday afternoon after they cut him before training camp due to a hamstring injury.
Perry’s agent, Sean Stellato, initially reported that the move had been made, then the team broke the news afterward. The team also announced that they released Kyle Sloter to make room for Perry.
Quarterback EJ Perry, who was with Jacksonville earlier this off-season, reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Jaguars to return to Jacksonville, per his agent @seanstellato.

With Perry now healthy, the Jags decided to re-sign him after he spent organized team activities with them and gradually improved in the process.
As for Sloter, he played for the whole second half of the Hall of Fame Game, and while he did register the Jags’ only passing touchdown of the night, it wasn’t enough to keep the Jags from wanting to reunite with Perry. Sloter ultimately finished the night 13-of-25 for 127 passing yards.
Perry started his college career at Boston College, but eventually ended up at Brown University. In 2019 he became the Ivy League Player of the Year, which earned him the Bushnell Cup Award. As a senior, he was 295-of-444 (64.4%) and threw for 3,033 yards while adding 24 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. That earned him an invite to the East-West Shrine Game where NFL scouts got a better look at him before he entered the draft.
