Jagan launches Talli-Bidda express

:

Chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched YSR Talli-Bidda express, a dedicated transportation facility to new  mothers who deliver at  Government hospitals, here on Friday.

The Chief minister flagged off the Thalli-Bidda express vehicles at around 10.40 am. Earlier, he paid floral tributes to the statue of former Chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

On the occasion, Mr. Jagan said that about 500 vehicles that were flagged off on MG road would be sent to various parts of the state to cater to the needs of mothers and newborn children.  There were meagre facilities for the mother-child in the past. The government was revamping  the medical and health department under nadu-nedu. Facilities and services were being improved. Medicines were being supplied as per WHO and GMP(Good Manufacturing Practice) standards in the government hospitals. “With the blessings of God, we are launching a good programme for the sisters. With almighty’s blessings we will do much better in the future,” he said.

Medical and Health Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (Nani) and others were present.

Talli-Bidda vehicles would provide free transport to pregnant women, mothers, and infants. The service is  coordinated by 102 /108 call center which  operates 24X7 . A vehicle is arranged  within 30 minutes of a request. Postnatal women, child and one attendant are transported from Government facility to home.

At present, there are not enough vehicles or in some areas cars, buses and babysitters are going home at their own expense.
