Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho has taken to social media to tell supporters just how much he 'missed' the feeling of being on the scoresheet after his heroics against Leeds.
The England international has been largely out of the first-team fold at Old Trafford since manager Erik ten Hag deemed him both physically and mentally unfit to contribute before the festive period. He has not started a game for United since October but helped his side out massively when introduced off the bench on Wednesday night.
United welcomed Leeds to Old Trafford and initially fell two goals down, before Marcus Rashford sparked a comeback. Having been brought on just before the hour mark, it took 11 minutes for Sancho to make an impact as he netted the equalising goal to spark wild celebrations from the home faithful.
It was an emotional moment for the young winger, who has struggled to find his best form ever the £73million move to United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. Sancho missed out on a place in England's World Cup squad and spent the tournament, and a spell after, training alone on an individual fitness programme.
After a three-month absence, Sancho was named in the match-day squad for the first time against Nottingham Forest last week as United sealed their place in the Carabao Cup final.
It was against Leeds where he truly had his moment though and after bagging the goal that spared United's blushes, Sancho quickly turned to Twitter to express his delight.

He wrote: "I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed this feeling! Team showed great character to stay in the game, we go again on the weekend."
His manager seemed to be just as overjoyed at Sancho's return, with Ten Hag waxing lyrical over the 22-year-old during his post-match media duties.
"He's all the way back,' the United boss claimed. "I'm proud he did it. I'm backing him, the coaches are backing him, the team is backing but he has to do it by himself.
"It's in his own hands. If he wants, he can do it. I'm really enjoying seeing him playing the way he did with so much confidence and belief. We know he's a magnificent player. I think consistently he can have a big impact, but he has to work hard."
Ten Hag also feels that the goal will only inspire Sancho to go on a run and bag more before the season is out, adding: "It will motivate him to get more. I really enjoyed it, especially for him – it will strengthen him."
