Jadon Sancho admits he was 'buzzing' when Manchester United signed Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window a year ago.
Last summer, United had identified Borussia Dortmund star Sancho as their main attacking target before they were presented with an unexpected chance to re-sign fellow forward Ronaldo late in the window.
It was a transfer which shocked the football world, including those at United, who never truly expected the Portuguese star to come back to Old Trafford, but one which sparked fresh belief in the club.

And although United endured a poor season as a team overall, Ronaldo shone once again, netting an impressive 24 goals in 39 appearances.
"I was buzzing," Sancho told club media. "I look at him as a role model and he’s a great player. You look at what he’s done in the game and it’s outstanding. For a young player looking up to him, it’s a dream come true.”
Ronaldo's impact at United could even inspire Sancho to create his own trademark celebration, with the English forward considering his own iconic way of commemorating a goal.
When asked why he doesn't have a trademark celebration, Sancho added: “I should! I’ve been looking at my celebrations recently and it’s kind of boring. It’s not like Ronaldo’s where everyone goes ‘Siiuu!’ or something like that. I’ll think of one soon, for sure.”
