Jadon Sancho identifies Man Utd trio helping him succeed with dressing room advice

Jadon Sancho has picked out Cristiano Ronaldo as one of three Manchester United teammates whom he is absorbing knowledge from in the dressing room.

Sancho arrived at Old Trafford last summer in a £73million transfer from Borussia Dortmund which thrust him into the Premier League spotlight.

Although he is an established England international with 23 caps, the winger is only 21 years old and a junior member of a United squad brimming with decorated footballers.

Sancho endured a challenging start to life as a Red Devil and scored just twice in the first half of the season but his form improved significantly in February with a return of two goals and two assists.

The former Manchester City academy star believes he is reaping the rewards of better recovery after learning the tricks of the trade from experienced teammates Ronaldo, Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane.

"I'm here with a lot of great players and I'm learning from the best," Sancho told United club media. "You've got Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane…

"All these guys have won major trophies and just being in the changing room with them gives you a blessed feeling.

"I'm definitely learning from them, on and off the pitch, especially in terms of their recovery and how they make themselves better. I'm taking in all the information I can and trying to put it into my game."

Sancho has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, most recently coming off the bench during the 0-0 draw with Watford last Saturday.

The Red Devils have a challenging upcoming fixture run which sees them travel to local rivals City before clashes with Tottenham and Liverpool either side of the second leg of the Champions League last-16 second leg against Atletico Madrid.

Sancho started the first leg against the defending La Liga champions, playing 82 minutes in an energy-sapping encounter in the Spanish capital.

Youngster Anthony Elanga scored a late equaliser to cancel out Joao Felix's opener for the hosts, ensuring things ended all square.

Discussing the importance of recovery between such testing fixtures, he added: "For sure, I feel like that's very important, especially when you've got games back to back.

"You need your legs and especially when you're a winger – I need to get up and down the pitch.

"I definitely need my legs to recover as quickly as possible to go again. It's definitely important and I'm just trying to be a better version of myself."
